The journal is intended to accomplish a number of missions. Mission Number 1 is to facilitate the development, dissemination and exchange of newest knowledge and scholarship in education in rural areas. Mission Number 2 is to foster a better awareness and understanding of rural education in the world with a focus on underdeveloped inland China. Mission Number 3 is to aid career growth of professional teachers by giving them a chance to articulate their best practice, motivating them to engage in reflective teaching and combine practice and theories, and enabling them to learn from colleagues nearby and afar. The accomplishment of these missions is intended to ultimately improve the learning experience and outcome as well as the welfare of rural school students.
